Four Hour Body - Week 16 Complete: It's Official, a One Month Plateau

Putting some changes in place this week to try and break the plateau… I saw some updates from Tim Ferriss on Facebook regarding plateaus, one talked about taking a week off the supplements, then going back on.  So I’ll try that this week.  So my changes this week will be:

  • Easter Sunday:  taking off altogether
  • Slow Carb Diet: back to it on  Monday
  • Diet Sodas: down to ONE at lunch only
  • Wine: will limit wine consumption to 1-2 glasses only on Friday
  • Cheat Day: STAYS IN PLACE… can’t live without my Saturday Cheat Day
  • PAGG Supplement:  taking the week off, back on it next week
  • Exercise:  I’m adding running 4-5 times this week
  • Exercise:  I’m adding Occum’s workouts this week

The Continued Plateau in Numbers?
Weight: 171.0 - up 0.4 pounds since last weigh in
Total Inches: 135.25 - no change since last weigh in
Body Fat: 17.2% - down 0.2% since last weigh in

Total losses to date:
12.5 pounds

New Gear Recommendation for Heavy iTunes Users

Unleash your iTunes Library

Every TV in my house has a jukebox connected to it that can access all my Video/Music/Photos sitting on iTunes or my photo folder on my main computer... for only $97 per TV.

The solution is simple and incredibly convenient.  It keeps you from losing DVDs (or getting them damaged by little hands), and unlocks your iTunes and iPhoto media to be shown on all your TVs.  All your purchased movies and songs, all the photos you've taken over the years, are all available to view on your TV wirelessly.  All your media is available to you in a simple interface designed specifically for the TV.  It's called the AppleTV, and it works with both Mac and Windows machines.

Additional perks, you can connect to your Netflix streaming account, watch You Tube, and rent High Def movies from Apple!

It's inexpensive, it's easy, it's convenient... I'm never looking back.

My Current Challenge - Storage Expansion

After a few years, you'll discover your iTunes library begins to bloat.  My iTunes library sits on an internal drive on my Mac Pro which I leave on full-time.  It serves up the media to the Apple TVs in the house from a central database.  My collection has really grown over the years...

  • 33,471 songs
  • 612 movies
  • 1351 TV Show Episodes

The collection has just outgrown my 2TB internal drive, so I have been looking for a solution that is inexpensive but offers HUGE storage capacity.  There are many expensive solutions out there, but they are designed for business use.  I'm looking for a price that the average tech-oriented household can afford.  Western Digital just came out with an external 6 TB drive (SIX!) that will give me a few more years of growth of my iTunes file store.  It's priced at a fraction of the business-oriented solutions.

The Western Digital My Book Studio Edition II - works on both Mac and Windows.

I purchased two of the drives... one for the data store, and one as a slave back-up (computer back-up discussion coming soon... don't lose everything!).  The drives are on back-order, so it seems they're pretty popular.  I'll update everyone as I install, migrate my iTunes library to the new drive, and learn my lessons the hard way.

Four Hour Body - A Plateau?

Looking at my measurement spreadsheet, my weight today is within a half pound of where I was on March 5th... so effectively, I'm only down a half pound in a month and a half. I need to go back and review the book and dial things in a bit.

Nevertheless, I'm happy with "even-or-down" on the scale!

Weight: 170.6 - down 1.0 pounds since last weigh in
Total Inches: 135.25 - no change since last weigh in
Body Fat: 17.2% - down 0.2% since last weigh in

Total losses to date:
12.9 pounds
2.9% body fat
11.13 inches

Four Hour Body - And One Step Back, Week 14

After last week's successful drop of a pound and a half, I eased up this week. Not on purpose, mind you, but I think I was self satisfied with a good week! I didn't stay on top of the supplement stack as well as I should, stopped cold treatment altogether, and had several dinners that didn't quite "follow program." And the results show it! This is simply confirmation that the 4HB program works. Not giving up! The following week will be a time to refocus and get this body re-composition back on track.

Weight: 171.6 - up 1.4 pounds since last weigh in
Total Inches: 135.25 - no change since last weigh in
Body Fat: 17.4% - up 0.2% since last weigh in

Total losses to date:
11.9 pounds
2.7% body fat
11.13 inches

... but I'm still having cheat day today!
